We, the Organising Committee of AMPICON-2009, Hyderabad, India invite you to our 30^th Annual Conference of Association of Medical Physicists of India ( AMPI), an International Conference on Medical Physics with the theme “ADVANCES IN MEDICAL PHYSICS AND TECHNOLOGY FOR CONFORMAL DOSE DELIVERY IN CANCER”. to explore what's been, what's so and what's to come in conformal dose delivery in Radiation Oncology. The AMPICON–2009 is being hosted jointly by MNJ Institute of Oncology & RCC, Hyderabad and AMPI, AP-Chapter held in Hyderabad from 22^nd – 25^th November 2009 (Sunday to Wednesday ) at Katriya Hotel & Towers, Hyderabad.

These four days, AMPICON-2009 will cover many topics, best practices and techniques for a dose escalation to tumor, with a precision in dose delivery, making use of on board imaging with a kV beam for a gated therapy of a moving tumor, portal imaging with amorphous silicon detectors, CT-Sim with moving lasers, 3D treatment planning systems with Monte Carlo simulations, on net working, PET CT and MRI in further precision in staging of the disease, paving the path to IGRT, DART and all these provisions condensed into a single unit like Tomotherapy and further advancement in fast completion of treatment reducing the integral dose through Rapid Arc or VMAT, online verification of the dose delivery of IMRT/IGRT through air vented plane parallel pixel ionisation chambers (COMPASS) of each fraction pre-treatment and treatment monitoring, and the technology of Gammaknife and X-knife, Cyberknife used in radio surgery and development of Proton Accelerators with “bragg” peak energy depositions for a precise conformal therapy, etc., which will always incite interest, is our theme and motto of the conference.
